Mango
basically, what the title says !! PeterS
The Special Edition ( not the same as the SE ) seems to be a base model with the addition of A/C but at a lower price than the standard car. It's nothing like an S-Line... Seems to only be available with the 1.6 non FSI and 1.9TDI engines, which I don't think are even available in S-Line trim. I'd expect it be more than 2 grand less than an S-Line though. SE and Sport trim are £2k on top of the standard car, and S-Line is another £1,800 on top of that... Mango
Thanks PeterS. I didnt mean the base model Special edition (for the 1.6 and 1.9 diesel). There was a special edition for the S Line. Some of them got that two tone leather, but I wondered if there was any more equipment. Briggs
Mine came with full leather - I think the rest of the deal was just cheaper price for all the S-line bits that are in addition to the sport model. I'd go for one post May/June 2006 that had the revised 'smooth' front bumper too.

Cheers [/ QUOTE ] I have just got hold of my A3 1.9tdi special edition. It comes with nigh on nothing! You get a CD player, manual air-con and elec windows. If you do go ahead make sure you tick the boxes for DIS, digital climate control, better sounds system, I'd also go for a leather steering wheel (The standard one is horrid!) and fogs. The wheels on the special editioon are awful, I upgraded to RS6 18's and have just had the car lowered 50mm, looks a lot better! Here's some pics. JamieSelway
My April 06 Sportback came with the full S-Line kit, including the S-Line embossed seats, which a few people didn't have. Basically I saw it as a discount on the spec, of course, I also got a decent wedge off from the dealer! As far as extras go, it did come with auto-wipers, anti-glare rearview mirror and auto lights, which I didn't spec, but were on it when I collected. I was told this was a spec change so didn't argue. iceman2002_uk
my s-line has the black headliner, embossed seats, s-line kick plates and badged up steering wheel ... thats 0n a 2005 / 55 plate.... i think they might have called that spec "s-line exclusive" back then though... i seem to remember s-line getting the outer styling and s-line exclusive getting the seats etc... Nelson_R32
The S-line Special Edition is essentially an Audi Exclusive leather interior. Bits you get; Full two tone Leather interior (really nice quality soft leather) RS4 style Alloy Wheels What you don't S-line Steering wheel (just a sports one as you can't get S-line wheel with Audi Exclusive) S-line embossed seats For what you get and what you pay its a really nice car. Especially if you specify it in white with Open Sky Roof!
Mango
Whats the difference between RS4 wheels and RS4 Style Wheels ? Apart from the price I assume !!!
S3Rob
1 inch. RS4 style are 18's, RS4's are 19's. They won't fit the A3 without modification though. The RS4 style are a slightly poor imitation of the real thing as the spokes are totally flat.
