s3geezer
Hi all, Well the original battery has finally let me down. It won't start (just does a couple of pathetic groans)! I started it up using jump leads and took it for a 10 minute drive. When I returned home I connected up the battery charger and it started to charge, but after 2 minutes it said, fully charged. The battery is also showing a green light. I noticed it was showing a green light even when it wouldn't start! As it is NOT a maintenance free battery, do I buy a new one at Halfrauds or do I take it to a garage so they can fix the eloctrolyte levels etc? Paul
Fit a new one, then you can forget about it for another 5 years +
Motormouth
Still might be worth getting battery checked. I thought it was my battery on my 02 A3 but turned out to be the alternator, this I only found out after I had bought a new battery which I didnt need
s3geezer
Yeah, I'll definitely get it checked out. No point buying one if it's not at fault (although I think it is). If I do have to end up buying a new one does anyone know what ratings etc, I need? Also, any make in particular better than others (or any rubbish ones which should be avoided)? Cheers lads, thanks for the advice.
