Joylove
Hi all, noob owner, I bought Wiganers' A8 1995 4.2Q, and I love it Can anyone help with these questions? 1)Can all of the windows be programmed to one touch up and down? 2)Does this model year have the wiring, speaker and mic for the car kit detailed here? http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/v60install.html 3)Is the wiring there for an upgrade to heated seats and adjustable lumber support? 4)Is there a cup holder available for the front? 5)Where does the BOSE subwoofer reside when fitted? 6)The drivers door lock is sluggish to pop up and needs a good tug to unlock from inside, can it be serviced? Is there a door card removal guide? 7)How do I remove the rear seat squab? An aftermarket wire dissapears under there and I want to know what it does. 8)Where are the cubbies suitable for putting in amplifiers? Specifically a long flat one and two smaller ones. 9)What sizes are the speakers I can fit? 10)How do I change a bulb in the AC controls? 11)Anone know good independant around Wiltshire? Thanks [/ QUOTE ] Hi there, welcome to TSN... I guess if I answer this, then I dont need to answer the one in my inbox, which was next on my list 1) Windows should do one touch up and down, older cars can get a bit sticky though, so I have known the one touch get a bit random 2) Good question. I dont recall ever seeing it in any of the cars we've taken apart, so its unlikely. Remove the sunroof controls and look for presence of a microphone (easist to check) 3) There should wiring there... Although I still dont understand how that 4.2 ended up with non electric seats. Not standard... 4) Cup holder goes in the rectangular hole by the handbrake. We've got spare ones 5) There isnt a seperate sub. The front door speakers have deep, deep base tubes on them which is where the base comes from, in conjuction with more effective speakers in the parcel shelf. We can supply Bose stuff too. 6) Door locks are air powered from pump in the boot (thats why they are so quiet). If sluggish, it may be lubrication, or a bend/kink/hole in the tube that runs from the boot 7) Rear seat squab is two cross head screws accessible behind two small inch square pieces of carpet that are cut out. Look at the carpet that runs up to meet the seat squab and you'll see them. 8) The Bose amp goes in the recess under the CD changer in the boot, the opposite side to the Battery.... 9) Pass... Off the top of my head... I dont do non original 10) Not sure its easy. Climate panel is a pain to get out, needs quite a bit of trim out. By the time you've done that, might as well change the module. We have working spares. Hope that helps, maybe someone else can help on the speakers and independents... Oh, and if you're going to change the seats... consider getting the sports one, they're much nicer... Cheers Ian

Cheers Ian [/ QUOTE ]Hi thanks for the welcome 1)I thought I was going to use VAGCOM to enable this but will Try greasing them in the first case. 2)I've checked and the mic is NOT there 3)The seats have manual bases and electric backs, with a lever on the top edge by the base bolster. Are the sports seats you have heated with lumbar? 4)I'm interested in one of those 5)The head unit I'm using is preamp only so I'll be looking for a fully amp'd system and I already have 3 amps in a box in the spare room to utilise. I don't mean to upset you there, being a staunch OEM man 6)I'll start with lubrication I think when I do the window sash 7)OK 8)Not much space there! 9)OK 10)OK TBH it doesn't bother me that much 11)Anyone know a good inde in Wilts? Here she is Needs the Facelift sport wheels I reckon..
Ska
My rear windows are one touch down but not up? Standard door speakers are 4" in size but can take larger with spacers IIRC
