Clearkote QD v's Megs Ultimate detailer

Couldn't resist buying some of the latest Megs stuff (despite the cost)to compare to the Clearkote stuff I've recently been using. To be honest, I can't honestly say one looks better that the other. However, I found that the Megs stuff didn't spread as readily across the surface and definitely needs more buffing. I understand that the Megs is designed to withstand washing etc so maybe the extra effort is worth it (although somehow, I suspect I will still want to apply after each wash to give it that extra bling).

What's everone elses thoughts on these products?

BTW, i recently carefully applied some of the Clearkote detailer to the touchscreen sat nav as it states that it almost eliminates fingerprints. It works pretty well - doesn't totally stop marks on the screen but makes them much less noticeable and east to wipe off with a velvet pile MF. smile.gif

Hi Tarmac,

When the Megs UQD came out i did quick review on here. The UQD is harder to move b/c its acutally a spray sealant. I love it, the beading is pretty nice as well. I notice it depth and looks nice on plastic light covers.

I also really like Clearkote QD, i buy it by the gallon. It doesnt leave anything behind on the surface, it looks great on all surfaces.

All i would say is the UQD doesnt last as long if you apply it to a wet car.

Geoff

PS. The UQD smells great and the sprayer is excellent!!

I've just read that applying a 'sealent' type detailer spray is not a good idea if you have a carnuba / wax type finish on your car as the wax can no longer breathe. This may cause cloudiness over time.

Best I go easy on the Megs Ultimate Detailer then confused.gif

Old TOSH!! tongue.gif Rest easy!!

There are plenty of new products on the market that are acutally polymer based that work fine with Nuba wax underneath.

You really wont have any problems with UQD.

Optimum opti seal is another polymer based product which i posted on here about a few months ago. I currently have it over 3 lays of Pinnacle Souveran Wax. Im using the latest polymer developments to "seal" in my wax finish!!

In the pass sealants over natural waxes dident work, newer products are avaible that work to compliment each other, UQD is one of these.
