There's a few on the Audi website now for £39/40k. A bet that's really £36/37k.

I've driven one and have posted before - great car other than the hard suspension...but there comes a point where its worth a look. Or is there?

I think you have a point. 169144-ok.gif

It is worth a test drive at least.

There's an S6 saloon on e-bay for £33.5k so they are going DOWN. Mind you, poor press reviews and 15mpg will keep them falling.

Everything that does less than 18mpg is going south with the current price of fuel.....and watch the price of diesels soften as the daft pricing on that takes it's toll-especially on performance diesels that don't have very good mpg vs. the petrol equivalent....

To be honest I'm seeing diesels being hit harder by this fuel issue much more than petrol models. The running cost gap between petrol and diesel cars is now closer than ever an and unless its something rediculous like the S6 and has an average of less than 20mpg they seem to be holding up.

Wait until the Used Market goes quiet again in November/December and you'll easily see 5.2 S6's around the £30k mark.

Thought about it as a kid-friendly alternative to the S5, but it would mean handing over cash to pick up an older, if better car.

Interesting thoughts. Having bought a 535d the price gap between petrol and diesel is a pain but at least its less for most performance petrols as they use super. Mind you at a 6p premium for diesel vs super, the 535d at 35mpg is still way ahead of an S6 at 18mpg - 16p/mile vs 30p on my maths.

I wonder about getting an S6 for £30k and fitting an aftermarket suspension kit? How would that compare with an old shape RS6 for performance and handling? The chav's amongst us might even fit RS6 badges.

I kind of get what you are saying Dave...

I had a blat in an RS6 on Friday (new one) stickered up at £81k

A fast car it maybe but £81k :flush: My prediction is in 2 years they will be trading for £30k-£35k.

So £20 ishk for an S6 still doesn't look bad value for money
