pritesh
Hi All, Does anyone have any idea the difficulty involved in changing a set of front and rear pads for a Merc CLK 200K Tip 2000 Model? Do i need a tool to push the piston in like you do for the rears on a VW Passat? Any thoughts or help much appreciated. Cheers P
manderson
Im sure the rear uses handbrake shoes inside the disc/drum. So if you are only doing the pads the piston should just push back like the front caliper. The rear pads are held in with pins so its abit more akward if the pins have stuck. Remember and fit new pad wear sensors with the new pads.
richy_uk
Just putting on a flame suit ..... have you thought about Kwik Fit ? My wife's 2003 C Class had the front pads done for £50 with free lifetime replacements. I've driven it a number of times and it's even been to Merc for a service and I can't tell any difference from the stealer doing it apart from being £100 richer and not worrying about paying for them ever again.
