Guest RichA
My RHS Rear Brake Light has gone kaput. I have purchased a bulb but I am struggling to get the cluster off. I'd be very grateful if someone in the know would guide me. I understand that there is just 1 screw to release the cluster. Does this need to be loosened or taken out completely? If the later what stops it falling and being lost (it is slightly recessed). Once I have this crew loosened or removed what next? I think the cluster slides rearwards and then will justy come away. Is that correct? Many thanks.
Scotty
Remove it totally but support the lens with the other hand. It then just hinges off. You'll be amazed howeasy it is once you've done it.
Guest RichA
Thanks. I've seen it done and thought I'd be Ok so gave it it a try. But failed to get the cluster to hing open. Not sure I undid the the screw enough?? The screw is recessed by an inch. What stops the screw falling into the recess?

Guest RichA
Thanks. Will give that a go. I was using a screwdriver rather than a small socket.
Guest RichA
Aggghhhh. Put the mini socket into the hole. Only for the socket to fall off and down into the recess I bet it's going to rattle about in the car forever now!! Taped on a second socket and this time managed to get the screw all the way out, the cluster popped off, the bulb replaced and it all went back together. So, other than the fact that I now have a mini-socket rolling arround the bowels of my car, it was a success!!
kite
What about some sort of magnet tool to remove the wayward socket
