kopites17 Posted October 21, 2007 Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 Morning fellow R owners, dealer wrote to me yesterday, said this in the letter"according to our records your VW R32 is due for a cam belt replacement" Car coming upto 4 years old now. Im not sure but l thought the R32 had a timing chain and not a cam belt, if this is the case, l dont need to have anything done do l? Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence in the Dealership when they dont know that the R32 has a timing chain. Thanks again guys, this forum has been a godsend. R32TIM Posted October 21, 2007 Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 i had the very same letter from my dealer, rang them to ask about it and they confirmed that it was a chain and said that it was a standard letter that is sent out and that the chain never needed replacing... ..i wish they had said that about the gearbox....but thats another story.
