Price Needed please

Finally getting round to trying to sell my car but need a realistic price for it.

its a

VW Golf 1.8T GTI (2000) on an X and done a mear 130,000 miles

Any ideas at what a fare price and a likely price i should be trying to get.

if it's in good nick then I can't see why you couldn't still fetch about £3,800-£4,500 for it.

How much will not having a full service history knock off?

I am missing about a year from the previous owner as he was mechanic and serviced it himself. Supposivly.

He a mate of mine so i was not bothered but i know it will make a difference to another owner.

I've been in a situation where I've had to try and sell a car with a patchy service history - Your best bet would be to get rid of it at an Auction. I know private buyers and certainly possible traders will be put off by the missing history. Me, well I wrote mine off as a big mistake and kept it as a family run around. tbw, it was also a MK4 Golf! lol

I think we got c.4k for our 2000 W plate with c.70k miles and fsh (p/x at main dealer) earlier this year.

With this mileage - Glasses has this more at circa £2,000 - with the lack of history I suspect you are looking at £1,750.....

does one years history missing out of seven make that much difference. All the years prior to it were at main dealers and mine has been serviced by independents. I would asume that it would make a bit of difference on price.
