greyjag
I have a 2001 S8 with Navigation. I don't have the indash screen. Can I buy one ,say off ebay and plug it in and have it work or is there more to it? Can I watch DVD's on it?
greyjag
So I am talking about the stock one that has a large display and is in the same place as my stock Bose system. but has a larger display and I assume a navigation mode. TDiAvant
I take it your talking about the RNS-E DVD based nav unit. If you are then you cannot play DVD's using the internal drive. You would have to fit the RNS-E then fit an AV module to the unit, then connect a DVD player to that. From what I know about the D2 A/S8 it's not a straight swap. NickGUK
Erm, don't think that will help much, look at his location
A8_Tony
greyjag, if you have a look at www.audiworld.com there's a tech article to install an RNS-D (Satnav +) into a US D2 A8
Atomic
As mentioned you will need a RNS-D plus you'll need an external DVD player etc. that audiworld link goes most of the way towards achieving what u need.
