Adaptive lights - any good?

I have them on the 5 and I like them, but not sure I would pay for them as an extra to Xenons.

They came within the visibility pack (car was used).

Roundabouts and driving through the estate you really see them swing from side to side...

Xenons defiantly, adaptive... not essential, but a cool gadget

They came in the "visibility pack" in my new 5 this year, which is bi-xenons plus adaptive lights and is priced the same as bi-xenons on their own.

The car arrived in April, so I've only just been able to test them. At first, I forgot that the car had them so wasn't looking to see any effect. It was only when I got back into Mrs P's X3 (fitted with plain bi-xenons) that I felt something was wrong - I didn't seem to be able to see as well.

Next trip in the 5, I looked a bit harder and noticed that the headlights were in fact bending to suit the road - it is almost uncanny how the right bit of road always seems to be lit.

So, yes I really like them and feel that there is a significant and detectable difference. But do set that against what I paid for them smile.gif
