Muppetboy
I've been trying to configure an Audi A5 using the configurator on Audi's site but it keeps telling me there is a conflict on the spec, even if I just go with all of the defaults. I've tried this on different browsers and on both Mac and PC, so it can't be me can it? Can anyone else get this to work all the way through the end? edo
it's fecked. I reported it to them 2 weeks ago. Pathetic.
Muppetboy
Ah ok... I've been trying for a few days now. In the meantime I've just checked out the used A5's, 141 out of 142 A5's they have in the country for sale are diesels! Only one petrol
edo
well, given the 3.0TDI is quicker and more conomical than the 3.0 petrol, it doesnt suprise me! Drove one last week - lovely car, just not prepared to pay list, so BMW got my money this time!
Muppetboy
Yes I noticed it's slightly quicker but not everyone wants a tractor... hmm well apparently they do. Just tried to bring up the S5's, it wont even do that. Feck Audi I'm giving up. I don't know, they wont be at the 2008 London Motor Show, their site is feckin pants... losing credibility fast with me.
Scotty
Their web site and configurator has been crap for the last 5-6 years at least. You would have thought that with their huge marketing budget (TV & magazine advertising, sponsorship of skiing, cycling teams, etc etc) that they'd be able to sort out a website. Many smaller companies do a lot better with their online presence than Audi. If Audi are not embarrassed then they should be.
Andy_Bangle
[ QUOTE ] Their web site and configurator has been crap for the last 5-6 years at least. [/ QUOTE ] I concur, I must have spent hours over the years trying to spec my cars on it and then emailing dealers without ever getting a reply! The German config tool tends to work fine though (no good for spec'ing a UK car) so come on Audi UK fix it.
hashluck
Yes same problem here with A5, cannot get past Alloy Wheels!

Chris_B
Today, I tried to configure up the following, all without any success: Q7 A8 S8 It's thoroughly fecked. Go to 'request brochure' and download the PDFs and get your own spreadsheet sorted. Even when the configuration 'works', your own is more accurate... alera
The A8 configurator has not been working for over a year now. Seriously. You can use the Parkers website. It gives accurate costings for virtually all the options now.
Chav
It's unbelievable really. Wonder how many sales they've lost as a direct result of people not being able to play with their spec online.
edo
I sent them a sarcy message via the website - might help if you all send one they might get the message!

Nelson_R32
Unfortunately Audi UK think there website is the best thing since sliced bread. I've tried to tell them different but they won't listen
Scotty
Send them the link to this thread. This is not people just having a moan for no reason. It's genuine frustration and constructive input.
PeterS
Perhaps if all of the 300+ people who've viewed this thread were to contact Audi via the 'contact us' section of their website they might wake up? I've just done so as it wouldn't let me spec an A4 Cab 2.0T S-line without selecting some optional alloys @£350... So that means it's broken for A4, A5, Q7, A8, S8... alera
I cant believe its still not working properly. They took the link off to the A8 configurator altogether. Like I said its not been working (or not linked to) for over a year now.

Muppetboy
The Audi site just gets worse, now you can't even get prices for new cars without registering Honestly Audi
Merlot
I know - just fill in some random data, like the local BMW garage.
scillyisles
Yes - I have to say that it seems rather stupid of Audi to force you to fill out a registration form in order to get a price list and brochure.
