Morning everyone,

I borrowed this car for a few hours yesterday afternoon, more toys and buttons than you can throw a stick at...loved it. If I ever needed a barge on wheels, with all the toys and drop dead gorgeous looks, this would be it!

A6 Le Mans S-Line Special Edition. All the pics are very similar but I didn't have enough time to go hunting down different locations etc....

hey Cruiser,

It's a 2.7TDi Quattro S-line LeMans Special Edition.

From what I could gather it had...

Moonroof, MFSW, Bluetooth, DVD Nav w/ TPC, Colour DIS, TPM, Cruise, Rear parking sensors, adaptive lights (so good!!), Interior light pack, full leather, Eleccy lumbar, storage pack, etc etc..

2.7 unfortunately. He's picking up his new 3.0 demo next week, same spec! Nothing like a change is there! smashfreakB.gif

I tried a 2.7 TDI A6 before i ordered the Beemer, tbh i didnt think it was that quick, im very impressed with my 165bhp 520d and its fuel economy. The 2.7 TDI felt quick in the A4 though

Maybe because it was too quiet in the A6 shape?

However, it does produce a great sound from the V6 TDi! 169144-ok.gif

I run an A6 2.7TDI quattro S-Line with tip box. Its a heavy car, but once you get it rolling the torque is very good. I used to run the previous shape A6 Avant and had a 2.5 TDI multi-tronic with in the wet the front wheels would loose grip. This never happens with the quattro in this car. Yes it is slower that a non 4WD variant, but the extra grip, especially when cornering is worth it.

I've driven a 3.0 TDI and it is noticably quicker still. No news on weather they are putting the new 240 BHP version thats in the A5 and new A4 into the A6 yet.

There was talk about a twin turbo 3.0TDi a while ago, but I've not seen anything since?

Either way, these are great cars, with good practicality and tons of space.

What's the mpg on the 2.7 you have now compared to the 2.5 you had?

As far as my A6 2.7 TDI quattro goes, I get just over 30mpg on an average cycle which includes short runs to work on country lanes and roads. On a long motorway run I get 40+mpg and I can stretch to well over 600 miles plus from a tank. It is supposed to have an 80 litre tank, but the most I ever squeezed in was 73 litres.

Its actually cheap to run as far as the fuel goes.

Hmm, interesting. According to DIS, my 3.0 TDI allroad (Tiptronic) has managed an average of 31.7mpg since I've had it (nearly 12k miles), and this is mostly country A-road runs with some long-distance motorway and some in-town stop-start.

I'm a bit of a leadfoot, but I can get between 450 and 500 miles to a full tank on my country commute run, and on a long motorway cruise at 80-ish, I can get a good 550 to 600 miles out. It does seem to be very dependant on the wind conditions; those big door mirrors and raised roof rails drag a lot in a head or diagonal crosswind.
