stewz
How can you stop the alarm fob adjusting the seats prior to entering the car? or at least how do you set it up for your own settings? i have had a constant battle trying to get comfortable in my car, every time i set the seat up so as it's right it changes again every time i lock the car and re enter it. Infact it was only recently that i noticed the bugger moving just as i approached the car..... I have a second fob that was obviously the guys wifes, because when i used it to unlock the car the seat ended up about 2 inches away from the steering wheel!! jaimiebrown
It's called "Assigning the keys" (p.56 of the S8 Owner's Manual) and it goes something like this: You can assign any of the 4 memory recall buttons to the key fob but only one so it's probably best to set-up button 1 to your main key and button 2 to the spare. So, first off get comfortable and store your preference! Then, open the driver's door and leave it open. Press the recall button you want to link to the fob and wait until the seat has reached its final position. Keep the recall button pressed down and within 10 seconds, briefly press the unlock button on the remote fob and wait for another two seconds before releasing the recall button. Should work and the seat, steering wheel, wing mirrors and seatbelt height you stored should all change when you unlock the car from the fob but only if the door is opened within ten minutes of unlocking the car(?!) otherwise you have to manually press the recall button. Hope that helps.
