bazza_g
I'm looking for a portable/semi portable speaker system for my iPod Touch So far I've narrowed it down to the following.... Bose Portable Sound Dock - built in rechargable battery Harmon Kardon - mains power only Logic3 Jive Box - mains only I've not heard of the Jivebox before but putting out 90 watts RMS its going to be pretty punchy All opinions welcome and please suggest anything I've overlooked
Mac
The bose It fills my front room incredibly well for a small unit.

gizze
I would buy a used Cyrus amp, some nice compact bookshelf speakers and an ipod dock. Will cost around around the same money but sound so much better. The Fatman tube amp dock seems to get some good reviews. http://www.fat-man.co.uk/docs/product/itube_1.htm
alexc
I would recommend the Bose, although a friend recently bought the JBL Radical Micro and I was very imressed with the quality of the sound for a £99 unit.
Booster
Another vote for the Bose here.

gizze
I would try and listen to the Harman unit too, they tend to have a much warmer sound than most makes and that could be a welcome characteristic with a portable device, even more so an ipod based one. JonC
For a small unit, the Bose kicks butt. Placing of the unit is key - it's in my kitchen on walnut work surfaces and the bass is stunning
