MrAvant
Hi Guy's.... I have just done a search and no joy.. I was just wondering where you all buy your Longlife oil from because i spoke to Audi today and they wanted £15 + VAT for a 1 litre bottle!!!!! Just wondering if there is somewhere else i can buy it for that wont bankrupt me....
chrisan
I have a Wilko Motosave that supplies 1 or 5 litres of the approved spec. The last 5 litre one I bought cost about £40 - which I supplied to Audi for my car's service. I think Halfords supply the oil as well, but Wilko was cheaper for me. MrAvant
What make was it????? Does it make a difference if it is not the same make as the Audi supplied?
Kaskat
Costco do a 3x 1 ltr pack for £31 of castol edge (vw504 vw507) still expensive though, but remember that long life servicing should workout cheaper for the high mileage club
MrAvant
thats still cheaper than the STEALER
PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] Does it make a difference if it is not the same make as the Audi supplied? [/ QUOTE ] No, so long as it says that it meets the VAG spec shown in your manual.
chrisan
[ QUOTE ] What make was it????? Does it make a difference if it is not the same make as the Audi supplied? [/ QUOTE ] It was Comma Performance Motor Oil . It's the VW Spec that's important. Cheers
Matt R
[ QUOTE ] thats still cheaper than the STEALER [/ QUOTE ] Depends on which so called "Stealer" you go to, try a VW garage more than likely to be about £5 cheaper then Audi, trust me I know. Ask if they have the quantum Longlife in 1 Litre bottles!
chrisan
I think this is the one I bought for my 2.0 TFSI. Cheaper online than in the shop but I guess there's shipping?

JimLoskot
IMO: don't use long life oil. all it does is hold all the crap from your engine in suspension for longer. Use normal oil and get it changed regulary
MrAvant
I did think about that but did draw to a conclusion. I only do about 12k a year. I wonder what all think of changing from VS to Fixed?

Sponge
I buy mine from Halfords. You can find cheaper places for the oil, but once you add their P&P charges Halfords works out cheaper. (Well, every time I've worked it out it has.) (This question must have been asked 100s of times.)
edmundson
I bought mine from Ebay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Juing-Oil. I purchased 24 x 1 litre Mobil ESP 5W 30 for £156 + £7.50 postage. I bought that much because i use it for my Audi service as well as oil top up. I ordered on the Sunday and it was delivered from Germany on the Tuesday. It works out at £6.81 per litre.
