Loose inner door cavity cover

Hi All,

Can anyone please tell me whether there should be a sealing strip of some sort running along the bottom of the inner door cavity - i.e. underneath the speaker cover and up the inside near the hinges? My passenger inner door has worked loose somehow and is creaking like mad over rough roads. Apart from a tiny screw near the top I can't see anyway of securing it, save for using sticky pads or siliar. Is that ths only way? Thanks

Hi, I would suggest at some point in its life the door card (trim panel) has been removed and not re-fitted correctly, or upon removal some of the retaining clips broke. These clips are not easy to remove wthout breaking atleast some of them. If you replace them (both the holder and the clip ) the door trim fits with a firm "knock" to fit it and it definatley wont rattle with new clips.

i replaced all of mine on both rear doors to hold them firmly again. Dealer only part btw..not expensive tho

hi..... i had similar probs with my doors when i first got the car. Like mentioned the clips break very very easy when you try and pry the door card off.If you have to take the entire door card off to replace the fixing be very careful not to loose the tiny plastic clip which keeps the door pull cable attached to inner door handle they have a tendency to flick off( i lost mine and had to replace)

this should be of some help... smile.gif
