Dave
What are these? My ISP is trying to get me to upgrade my hosting package and the next tier has 5 MySQL databases and PHP4&5 and SunOne ASP.. means nothing to me
RobK
They're, um, databases It means that if you wanted to host an application on your web space, and that app needed a database, you could use MySQL for it. PHP and ASP are scripting languages that need support on the web server, so if you intended to use either of them in your pages you would need the ISP to provide it. Is there any particular reason they say you need to upgrade? Have you exceeded your bandwidth allowance or anything?
burble
It's as the name implies - a MySQL database. MySQL is an open source alternative to databases such as Mirosoft SQL Server, Oracle and so on. To be honest, if you don't know what it is you probably don't need it

[/ QUOTE ] i don't think so, I think they are trying to blind me by science and offer things I don't really need. Trying to get me to spend an extra £10 a month.
