steelwind101
The upper price is a bit high, but starting at around £17k it will probably shift few! I wouldent mind it with the V6 HDI! I know its all in keeping with the car, but a niche is a niche and if it makes money, go for it!
theduisbergkid
"Peugeot promises the non-turbo 120bhp 1.6-litre VTi model will start from around £17,500". Wow, I bet thats, erm, not very quick then and it'll be built with little regard to quality if recent Pugs are anything to go by. Oh, and its a fugly poor knockoff of an Audi too. Next. Torino101
hmmm... not a fan - it's a puffy TT - looks like an Audi with wasp stings.
shao_khan
Should be quite good - reliability should be right up with some of the more recent Audis, cost and quaality control mean it will probably be comparable - and the dealers cant be worse, maybe cheaper, so that experience couldnt be any different either. Should sell well
JonC
Peugeot does a TT - yep, poorly. Not an attractive car IMO.
Chav
I wouldn't touch a Peugeot with my worst enemy's barge pole. Reliability will be up there with the advanced passenger train. ...and anyone that buys one should be put on the carophile register.

Check JD Power results for starters. Pugs sell on price alone, even my mate (Pug Main dealer head honcho) says the quality and service is sh*t ! shao_khan
Yeah but the vw group is no competitor for Japanese quality either otherwise theyd feature better in jd. I've never owned a vauxhall that has had issues like my vag brand cars.

[/ QUOTE ] I think you will agree it is all down to personal experiences, I have many friends who have had no problems at all with Pugs and have owned 2 or 3, they then buy a premium brand car and have double the issue. In his case the 3 series was like a clowns car. On a personal note my mrs old trust 99 Mazda 626 has only ever had the battery, pads & disks changed once and no other issues in 9 years, the japs do have things right if you can stand the interiors. We thought about getting her a 2-3 years olf A4 Avant but am now looking at the Mazda 6. AZ

[/ QUOTE ] Agreed Shao, japs are generally more reliable than VWs, my thoroughly caned Scumball mx5 is a classic example of a jap car that just runs and runs, despite the abuse. Still, at the risk of generalising, we can agree japs are most reliable, then Germans, but French stuff, esp Peugeot, must be bottom of the pile, surely ? PS - Do you work for Peugeot ? bullett
Looks Weird. All the proportions are wrong. Maybe it looks better in real life. Can see a convertable coming hot on the heals but with only 120bhp that will hardly move. The top of the range engine sounds better but then it's getting pricey. Pugs always seem to drive well. ChadW
Pity it has still got the 07 series frog mouth grille. Makes a change to the 5 door hatch and SW cr@p you get from Pug, my mk1 TT is better looking though!
steelwind101
Dont be too critical! IN other markets im sure it will see really well even if its not liked so much here. Figures on reliability can be a confusing if you just see the league tables. The more recent Peugeots, Fords and even Citroens have acutally been pretty good. When you see the break down in costs, you will see that many of the cars in the Warrenty Direct survey of cars in dealer services you can see how confusing it all gets. Jag for example had plenty of cars going in and out. VW, who put in a very medicore results acutally, only had newer cars in their service centres. Seats just seem to be a disaster from the start as with Range Rover! Warrenty Direct also provide details of cars from 1 to 36 months. So it all needs to be taken in to account.
