fizzbitt
S2K is the only viable option and its a cracking car as well..

Torino101
It is a cracking car - but for 9k you are looking bottom of the pile for an S2K - it would be an '99 model with a hefty mileage i'd have thought. The Good news for you is that in the 11 months I kept my '02 S2000, I managed to sell it for £500 more than I bought it for
cruiser647
MX5? Buy now in very early Spring, sell in Sept with people still thinking about convertibles.......... Haven't heard from you in a while TomK?
techieboy
VX220 or S1 Elise
garcon magnifique
A nice MX-5 1.8i I'd say. £8-9k is plenty. Totally reliable, definitely fun, and will sell all day long for not much less as long as you sell in the summer. Yes the S2k is a better car, but you're at the bottom of the pile at £9-10k. As for a TT - surely it'd be a bottom of the range shed for 9 grand? (And he said FUN!)
edo
9k will not get you a good S2 Elise. Likewise the S2000. Could get a nice S1 Elise. I'd say TT roadster, possibly a VX220 (just), or an MX5. Also maybe consider an MR2. What sort of mileage do you do? [/ QUOTE ] It's the getting in and out that hurts (less than the S1 Elise though). Once you're in it's actually pretty comfortable and the drive more than makes up for it. alera
I would go with mx5 in that price range. S2000 is great car but cant see you picking up a decent one for £9000
theduisbergkid
How about an MR2 (last shape), no boot space, but quick, reliable and fun. Failing that you really cannot go wrong with a decent MX5. Depreciation free motoring if you buy one now. Same as MRS in many respects, but a bit more user friendly. They just look sheer class and (IMO) have more road presence than the newer model. And you won't loose much in the price (running it? that's a different story!) [/ QUOTE ] I like them too, never owned one though. I suspect they're pretty tough and with a good Indy servcing it, shouldn't be too bad. All came with factory hardtop , and 2 diddy seats in the back, so a hint of practicality too...
Tomk
must admit looked at a couple of s2k's now and for 9k i should get a 2000 W with 80k on it - so should hope to have one as soon as i find one !
