[Audi A3/S3] A3 Sportback 2.0 FSI SE DSG??

Hi All,

Am looking to buy a used A3 Sportback and have found a great looking example at a car supermarket, advertised with the following spec: 05/55 A3 Sportback 2.0 FSI SE DSG. Am a bit confused as, from my research, it looks like DSG was never an option on the standard 2.0 FSI; only the T and TDI. I suspect they've made a mistake with the description and this is just an ordinary tiptronic - can anyone confirm this for me?? Does anyone know how I can tell if it is actually a DSG model when I view the car??

Contact Audi CS on 0800699888, they can tell you from the reg No what the car has from the factory.

You are correct, the 2.0FSI has never had the option of the DSG. The option was for a normal automatic box not the DSG. Have a look at the sticker on the back of the front cover of the service book or under the cover in the boot and on the 4th line its should give the engine output in KW and after that it will say DSG if it is fitted with a DSG box. If you have the chance note the 3 letter code at the end of the 5th line and come back and I will be able to confirm the gearbox type from that code to be doubly sure.

Thanks v much for your replies - I checked with customer service and the gear box is a standard 6-speed auto as expected. Went ahead and bought the car anyway and love it.... maybe in a couple of years I'll upgrade to the 2.0T DSG!
