Pincher
Following on from this thread, I went somewhere just north of Telford last weekend to view and test drive a potential new addition to the fleet. All went well and I am now the proud owner of this! Got the train up from London to Stafford at lunchtime to pick it up (sat right by Claire Sweeney and a couple of other z-list celebs ) Can't really give much of a write-up on the 180 mile return journey as I was absolutely petrified for the length of the M6! It was raining so hard, no-one was going above 60mph as the visibility was really bad. Overtaking trucks in a low-to-the-ground, rear engined, rear wheel drive car that you have are driving for the first time (other than a test drive) was an experience to say the least The amount of spray that you get thrown over you as you go past these trucks is quite amazing. More than once, I was driving totally blind as I went past. May as well have had my eyes shut! Hit heavy traffic on the M1 at Luton and that didn't ease up until I went past the St. Alban's turnoff on the M25 I managed to have a quick blast once I got off the M-way on my local A-roads and I can safely say that I'm going to enjoy this car 4 hours trip home and I didn't ache at all Tomorrow it gets a clean and will hopefully take some proper pics, as long as the weather holds. Got some mods planned already Nothing too drastic though. Finally, I must say the most humongous thank-you to Techieboy for putting up with all my inane questions, asking his opinion on various cars over the last few weeks. Without him, I'd still be dithering! Cheers mate - owe you a Lanson
Nelson_R32
Very nice! Get some Opel badges on there though
Merlot
Not Lotus badges? Those babies are getting very cheap these days and with the traction control, airbag and engine which has loads of easy power, they are a better bet than a Lotus for the ££. Now you just need to not use it for three months.
JonC
Rapid beasts those VX220's. Took me a few minutes to get in and out of one though! Enjoy the car, it looks awesome
Muppetboy
For the ignorant what are the figures? BHP? 0-60 time? etc.
techieboy
Great stuff, Pincher. Glad you made it back, safe and sound. I still remember, with trepidation, my first wet motorway journey and just how big a truck looks from one of these cars! Luckily, I'd had it for a couple of weeks prior to that, though. Like I said, was happy to help where I could and I'd had the same help a year before. So, it was only fair to carry on spreading the J.O.Y. Hope to see it for real sometime soon. BHP? 0-60 time? etc. [/ QUOTE ] Mine is the N/A, so BHP is just under 150 and 0 to 60 around 5.4 Plenty quick enough for me

burble
Very nice! I came close to buying a Turbo a couple of months ago but decided that an R32 and a VX200 Turbo would be a bit OTT so I chucked some cash at the mortgage instead. I managed to resist the modding bug for about 9 months with mine
