chasdrury
Right... We have a user a work with Excel 2007, as everyone else has - when he double clicks an xlsx file, nothing happens. He can open csv files and xls files by doubleclicking. He can open xlsx files by file open in excel. In the Open with dialogue, if we select excel it still won't open... Any ideas? Mook
Try right clicking the file and using the Open With command from the contextual menu, then select Excel from the list, and check the option to always use this application to open this type of file. chasdrury
Tried that. The even weirder thing is if I log in as a different user, that's fine... Chaz
shark_90
Is the file type correctly registered? If it's working for other users it sounds like you need to delete their local profile (c:\documents and settings\<username>\ntuser.dat Best to do that in safe mode. And they'll lose their environmental settings.

shark_90
Nope, things like which image they've got set as their desktop... nothing major. But ONLY delete the NTUSER.DAT file.
