tonysmit
After asking a few questions of people and doing a lot of reading on the forums, I decided to fit OEM bluetooth to my S4 Cab. I ordered a cable from Kufatec, (and an auto roof opener, which is brilliant!) and went in to Audi Crawley to buy the mic and phone interface box. After the expected dialogue "you can't retrofit bluetooth etc" I sat down with the parts man and figured out which parts would go in my car if it had been fitted at the factory. The parts took a couple of weeks at which point I ripped the car apart and fitted them all. Note that in my version of Elsa Win it shows the telephone module under the passenger seat, but the illustration shows a left hand drive car! So guess which seat I took out? Next step is programming. I struggled to find anyone locally with VAGCOM so I dropped in to Audi again on the pretext of having the auto locking programmed and asked at the service desk whether they could program the phone module as well. A lot of head scratching ensued followed by an admission that they couldn't do it. They had set the codes but it still didn't work. I persuaded them to check the settings on a car in the showroom and this was coded the same so I assumed that I had done somthing wrong at the install. They had spent an hour and a half on the car and only charged me for half an hour. I did get my tyres filled with nitrogen though! and the locking programmed. As I went to leave, resigned to having to take the car apart again, there was a loud tone and the RNS-E came up with all the phone details. I did go back in and thanked them and showed the technician that it was all working. All in all, very pleased. Note that it would have been cheaper and less stressful to get Lee or Craig to do the job unless you factor in the petrol to get there from Surrey. Now, where's the part number for the cruise control and seat memory bits?
johnny11
i travelled up to criag`s from surrey to put the RSN-E and do the bluetooth on my RS6 while i was on my way to Dundee, i`m glad i did as watching him do the work i really wouldn`t have managed to fiddle with the wiring behind the RNS-E and work out what went where. PetrolDave
And I've done 2 A4s and an RS4 (plus my own) and I'm in Hampshire. P.S. Did you get Audi to properly code the phone module so that voice recognition works? The default on most cabs as shipped from the factory is to disable it. tonysmit
Don't know about voice recognition, does that work without a cradle or MFSW?

[/ QUOTE ] No cradle necessary (it uses the hands free mic), but it does need an MFSW since it uses the PTT button. Unless you have an RNS-E how are you controlling the phone module? Ask one of the guys I've already mentioned to do a supply and fit.
