Veracocha
A friend took his A3 1.9Tdi to Doncaster Audi sor a service and cambelt change. When he drove his car out, the turbo wasn't engaging and it was very slow. He called Doncaster to advise the situation and was told that this couldn't happen due to the checks they carry out after service. My friend then went to Stafford Audi who were more helpful. He dropped the car off and they found that the turbo had not been reconnected, the timing was out and the belt had been put on 1 tooth out. Also he has a warrantee which advises the CAT is covered. It needed replacing and he was charged £600 because apparently it is covered but not for corrosion. All in all not good from an Audi Dealer. chasdrury
Doncaster is part of the Gilder group. Not surprising... Chaz
shark_90
Sounds about right in my opinion. Used them once, will never use them again.
Veracocha
A shame, but thought it was worth mentioning to avoid more crap service for other people. Also, when he dropped his car off at Stafford Audi they gave him a lift back to work and then picked him up to collect the car when it was done. He seems pretty impressed with them. AvantSE
Interesting, I had wondered about using Doncaster instead of York if I need anything - although they are further away I had heard they were better. York just pees me off every time I go there - had a number of experiences where they have given the car back and the fault has not even been fixed. zedman
avoid the Gilder Group IMO, i cant wait till a decent rival for VAG turns up in S Yorks - they won't be so arrogant then.....
Sparky
I found Doncaster to be very good when I needed new brakes. I asked for all 4 to be replaced and the head tech told me that they didn't all need doing and said I could save a bit by just replacing the front discs. Can't fault them. Guilder Sheffield on the other hand ....
AvantSE
Still wondering why Doncaster quoted £83 for headlight alignment, and York £52.
