techieboy
Heads up for Humax PVR9200 owners. Humax have just released a new firmware update for over the air (OTA) updating. It brings the new series link (a la Sky+) to Freeview and Freeview Playback 2.0 features (whatever that is), plus some other fixes/updates. If your box is automatically set to check for updates at 4:00am (or whenever) then the chances are you probably downloaded it last night. If, like mine, you've disabled automatic OTA updates then you can download it manually from the Installation menu, from now until 9am 21st January. Once it's updated, you'll need to reset your box to it's default settings but this doesn't affect any recordings you've already made - it does however delete any future recordings you've got set up. nordberg
Bought one of these before Xmas and still not got around to rigging it up goddamn it.
techieboy
Do it. It's a great bit of kit. We've had ours since launch and it really does change the way you watch television.
nordberg
Got a Tivo so I'm down with PVRs. This does seem to have some nice touches though....
PaulWA4TDi
Is this firmware upgrade still being broadcast?
techieboy
No, not currently. You'll need to either hook up a laptop via the serial port and manually upload the firmware, or wait until it's rebroadcast on Freeview.
techieboy
Oops. Tell a lie. According to the Digital Television Group (DTG) "over the air" updates schedule, it is also being broadcast this week.
nordberg
I applied the update yesterday via serial port. However, I can't seem to find any series linked content. Isn't something like Eastenders series linked for instance? Not too impressed with it I have to say. I scheduled it to record the F1 over night and it seemingly couldn't be arsed. Also, I can't get PinP working worth a damn either.
nordberg
Found the issue. You have to turn off auto-padding to enable series link. Not particularly clear in the manual though. Also, seems ITV are to blame for it missing F1 qualy.
