I was at one this morning, 650i conv 40k miles 3 years old, £29k.

A very pretty 911C2 40th anni with 22k miles went for £36,600

3 mini copper s convertables between £12k and £14k for 1 that was a year old with 4k miles.

The auctioneer was moaning that prices were all weak, averaged -15% against the cap prices

I'm rather hoping that there will be a 330D on a 06 at Bedford for sub £20k 169144-ok.gifgrin.gif

Hi,

Got to say, i have been going to the one in N. London a bit over the last 5 yrs or so. Prices havent been that great, alot of privateers in there. Since the summer prices have fallen a little, its not "bargin" orientated like it used to be though, certantly not for 4x4's and premium brands. Infact even things like Mondeos go for about book price as people percieve them to be "cheaper" there. Some have gone for £3900, £4400 but you can get them with a yrs warrenty etc. for Gates Ford up the road with sticker prices of £4999, £4799 etc. before you even bargained. Every so often something a little less popular appears, a nice Subaru Legacy etc. Saw an 04 Alfa GTV 2.0 go for £3400 in dark red on black leather in Novemeber, seemed pretty nice! I dident look at it mechanically though.

Some are repo's (but really very few), end of lease period, over stock, main UK agent.

The common denominator tends to be that auctions will shift the car, and when a dealer has 8 cars or £200k's of stock sitting doing nothing, it's better to shift it at cost than hold and not sell.

Dealers won't accept auction values from punters because it dilutes the image and causes upset amongst the customer base.

All the one's detailed come from Accident exchange and since none have be declared as rental cars, must be staff cars or bought for dealers using the AE service.

Also consider that the car may have had 20% discount to cost at brand new, so selling them after a year at 30% discount to new value doesn't hurt them and even if it does will be tax advantagous on the profit and loss.

Has anyone got a cap book, and if so would the please assist with budgetry cost per glasses / cap.
