AvantSE
I am thinking of buying a personalised reg from DVLA as it is quite reasonably priced (I think), and pretty much spells a word - without the need to space the letters and numbers illegally - that happens to be my nickname at work. I am in two minds as to whether to get it as I will probably get the pee taken, but my question is this: If I were to buy the plate, then get bored of it (or the mickey taking), what is the best way of selling it on ? I am aware of some reg transfer type websites that will provide a valuation, and one has given an estimate of £100 over the DVLA price. Are there any other options for selling it on, other than approaching e.g. businesses that deal in the thing it spells ??

Tomk
thing is all those websites just ' list ' it for you they dont ' buy ' it from you ive got 70MK as part of my plate ( tomk ) and had it 'valued' at nearly £900... but would anyone buy it.... nope ! i think ebay is the only way to ensure it gets sold , or for £25 a year you can keep it to transfer to a new car when your ready
AvantSE
I had wondered that, hence the question. It is an easy way for them to make money - no outlay, just advertise it on their site, then wait for the commission to roll in.
Dadstoys
Forget the reg plate companies - their 'valuations' are usually well inflated, and their commission horrendous. Try ebay or an advert of your own on this website, pistonheads, or autotrader.
