Hello all.

quick question.

Got a service notice on the DIS the other day, that says service in 5,500 miles or 25 days.

Not sure what my timeframe is here? Do i have to get it done in the next 25 days or do i have 5,500 miles, or whatever comes first?

Also have only had the car since October, should it not have been serviced at the Audi dealer i bought it off?

What service plan are you on? Fixed or AVS. AVS tends to be about 20k miles. fixed a lot ahorter. I think something is wrong with your DIS for it to be saying service due in 5,500 miles.....IIRC it should start flahing up with around 1000 miles.

As for it being serviced before you picked it up? Then that would depend as to whether or not is was due at the time. They usually carry out a 100 point check. You sohuld have been given a service record in your package when you took delivery.

not sure what service plan - i got the car second hand in october and i dont remember anything about this being mentioned at the dealers?

The car has only done about 12,500 miles so i would assume the service plan is on the AVS? but i dont remember getting a choice off of the dealer

will check the service record tonight though to see when it was last serviced

You do not get a choice wrt types of service plan. I believe the default is AVS but it can be changed to fixed upon request. I would imagine yours being on AVS, 20k miles or 2yrs, going by what you say so the impending service will be the cars first, oil and filter change only. AVS is better is you do a high numbers of miles. Mine is currently on AVS but I will change this soon to fixed because I do less than 10k miles/yr and I am not 100% happy with having such long periods between services.

Whichever comes first.

What this says to me is that the car has only done a low mileage since the last service, so the "time to next service" has expired before the "mileage to next service". Check your service booklet for the date and mileage of the last service.

Get it booked in for a service within the next 25 days.

It's not been serviced yet, from what he's saying Dave 169144-ok.gif

Not unless you specifically asked for it to be serviced - did you check the service record when you bought it, or did you trust the Audi dealer to do and tell you what they should?

So it's done 12,500 miles and says there's 5,500 before a service is needed = 18,000 miles. Pretty typical for AVS.

And since it's saying 25 days to service that suggests the car was first registered in February 2006.

Does that agree with the V5?

Either way it needs a service in the next 25 days!
