Dodge
So what's it to be??? I have a list so long, but I'm looking for something to play with, that's not a Big Block, or a 50's step side truck... Somthing with good performance I can use as a 2nd car, maybe even visit the track, but it must be reliable and able to start first thing to run me to the station! First contenders are: - WRX Imprezza SAAB 9000 2.3 SE Hi Presure Turbo Datsun 240Z Ship in the ideas... and remember i'm not looking for anything too refined, I want to have fun!!! Dodge
[ QUOTE ] How about Porsche 928 S4 - 4.7L V8? [/ QUOTE ] Nice one, had my eye on one for a while but can't find anyhting less than £8k that isn't a nail... Those things will bankrupt you if there not 100%... But it's noted, know of one any where for £5k?
shao_khan
I just had a quick look on Autotrader and it gave me 15 I think, But I do agree with you - somethign you need to look at before buying. I guess if you can fidn one with a porsche club GB history or Porsche UK history it might help.
Sven
Must agree there. Wonderful cars! But find a good one and don't mind the odd extra gas stop...
loddrik
How about an R1
s4dreamer
Renault 5 turbo, or even the Gordini Turbo if they're not overpriced ? There was also a mofo of a R5 turbo with hooj bolt-on skirts, wheel arches and spoilers. That'd be good for a larf
gambba
What about a Nissan Sunny (Or wahtever they called it) GTI-R or a Skyline GT-R.....
shao_khan
Nissan Pulsar - 275bup easily and 4x4.
Chris_B
[ QUOTE ] Nissan Pulsar - 275bup easily and 4x4. [/ QUOTE ] Never heard of it, so I googled it. Impressive performance some of the rally-spec cars claim. I found a bunch of for sale/want ads here - plenty in the £5k region.
shao_khan
ONe of the guys (Ian) that came along to the Windsor meet last had a mate with a Pulsar and that was low 5's 0-60 and then kept pulling.

danksy
I'd prolly get something like a Nissan 200SX, infact you could get a couple for £5k! They are quite good fun, and I might be up for one in the summer as a track car!
J6ORDS
VW Corrado VR6. A classic in the making.
shao_khan
funny you mention the 200sx - i hav ebeen considering one as my hack (read car to playwith) but cannot make my mind up on the best version - the newer ones allseem to have sunroofs and that really trims headroom down. My sortlist is actually 200SX or Pulsar GTi-R
Dodge
Some interesting recs' there, at the moment it looks like the Scooby is topping the list... but the search is still on. I'll ship in the shortlist and vote in a week or two after a little more searching..
