Snail
What kind of speed should adsl be running? The most i've seen is about 60kps, yet im happily managing to listen to 128kps streamed audio, and surf the net.

Snail
Im curious as to why up streaming is sooo slow. The NTL people here have only 120kps, whereas everyone else has about 250kps, even though the downstreaming varies.

Chris_B
the lot of yer! I'm on crappo ISDN at home - new development and NTL in my area decided they didn't have enough capital to lay any new cable, so I had to give up my 1Mb. So I'm back to downloading everything at work and bringing it home via USB drive, CD-R or DVD. <sulks>
Chris_B
I thought I'd run the tester for a laugh. Took 20 minutes to download Java, and after that I got bored waiting for the test to complete. It's slow. Any file over 1Mb I could probably drive to work and download it there and get back here before it would finish over the ISDN, and it's 35 miles to work!
