S4_Spuddy
hi, anyone know offhand how much it costs to retrofit the Ipod connection to a B7 s4? It has the Audi MMI, (although, i dont think it the same as the new MMI in the S5) Was thinking of going through the dealer if it isnt too much.. I know that i wont have access to the full ipod just one album and then 5 playlists, but its still better than the memory cards behind the sat nav screen
DanG
Easy to DIY. OEM kits are sub £100 and come with instructions. Search the Marketplace here too. You will need the radio removal tools to pull out the Nav System, and you will need to take off the glove box (DONT DISCONNECT IT THOUGH!) But thats an 8mm socket job. Then move a couple of wires and plug in.

The B7 has RNS-E, which stupidly has a startup screen that says MMI but it isn't MMI. There are NO common parts between MMI (in the B8 A4, A5, C6 A6, D3 A8 & Q7) and the RNS-E (8P A3, B6/B7 A4 8P TT & R8). AFAIK everyone else that has expressed an opinion prefers the SD cards - because you get track names & album names displayed.
maersk
Yep, SD cards are the way to go. Almost wish i had not bothered with the other options

I've used my CD changer twice - once the day I bought the car to test it, and when we bought a CD that we just HAD to listen to on the way home! Personally I would rather spend the time doing the conversion and seeing track names, but we all make our own choices ...
