Did a post a while ago about cupholder / coin tray illumination & a few people showed an interest, have since fitted them & if anyone is interested part No's are as follow's

Cupholder 8E2 862 534 J 5PR about £25

Tray 8E2 941 561 C 5PR about £23 (Audi call it a shelf)

These are not supplied with plugs but if you can get the vent plugs from a breakers & cut the locator lip off they will do the job, Have done quite a bit of work on A4's of late so will edit as I find more part numbers that may be of interest

I can promise you that there was none in our A4 B6 + the others (Iv'e been looking into this since we got B7 with light pack) & i'm not in the habit of "wasting money" our accountant gets pi**ed off

Well clearly you are. There is only 1 type of Cupholder (aside from the chrome version) and that hasn't changed in the last 6 years. The Interior Light Pack has been done to death on this forum.

There is a female insert for a connecter at the bottom of the Cupholder and Coin Tray, the LED shines though this outlet and illuminates the logos.

Part number of removed cupholder is 8E2 962 534 H 5PR

New part number is 8EO 962 534 H 5PR Both black, Sorry if Audi head office forgot to pm you

Actually, it's ;

8E - A4

2 - RHD

8 - BODY SECTION

62 - CENTRE CONSOLE/DASHBOARD

534J - PART NUMBER

5PR - COLOUR CODE

As stated, the '2' denotes its for a Right Hand Drive vehicle and a '1' would mean it's for a Left Hand Drive vehicle. So that information doesn't make any sense, unless Audi mount the steering wheels centrally nowadays confused.gif

As far as I'm aware the 'J' version is still a good part number. I've never seen a case where a Part Number backward superseeds after such a long period of time. The letters usually move forward when there has been a supplier change/Product Improvement. So chances are a 2002 B6 A4 will have an 8E2862534H5PR whereas the latest number is 8E2862534J5PR

No ones having a dig at you, I'm trying to stop the spread of incorrect information thats all tongue.gif

Fair point, Sytner have confirmed with vin that part's were factory fitted which brings us back to the original reason for post, why no LED'd or fibre optic in parts ? Last time I asked this two more members got back to me & said they had same so in the spirit of goodwill I posted part numbers...... & then got shot down

I would hope you do admit it when your right, I can see no point continuing with this as I'm looking at 2 parts that apparently dont exist, At least I got you to admit there is more than one cupholder even if you didn't realize it, its nice to see parts dept training hasn,t changed since I left VAG

Sorry mate thing's seem to have strayed a bit there, yes it is possible, open cupholder or tray & look underneath if you can see a 10mm wide silver tab sticking out in centre that's the light conducter & you just need to wire up plug at the rear of the unit
