A2ULP
Dear All Was the B6 2.0 petrol an FSI unit? I thought it was a 130PS non-FSI engine but a friend is looking for one and many are advertised as 150PS FSI engines; I thought the latter was exclusive to the A3 being a transverse unit. I'm 100% sure this engine is 130bhp, but is it FSI? Many have FSI badges on but until yesterday I was 100% sure they weren't. If you configure a B7 Avant it indicates the 2.0 130PS unit is not an FSI, which confuses me even more If anyone knows for sure, I would be grateful. techieboy
Early 2.0 litre engines were certainly non-FSI and gutless to go with it but didn't think there was a huge difference, power wise, between the non-FSI and the later FSI version. Engine codes are AWA (FSi motor with 150bhp) and ALT (with 131bhp).
shark_90
ALT - eugh! I'm sure the A4 was available with 2.0FSi, but if your car is 130PS then it's not FSi.
Alastair_A3
Back in 2004 i bought a new 2.0 FSI A3, needless to say the 2.0 TDI is the much better engine.. my wife currently has that in her A3
MatP
I have a 2003 2.0 FSI, and yes it's the 150 bhp one. They also do the normal 2 litre.

[/ QUOTE ] I didn't realise they did both - I thought the 2.0 with 150bhp would be too-close to the 1.8T with the same output. You learn something new everyday, thanks one-and-all

Sparky
Add a T to the FSI and then you're talking
