So we have no traction control, standard ECU's and plenty of driver changes. Will Alonso provide that 0.6 of a second to get Renault back to the front of the grid and will Hamilton be at the sharp end again or will he fizzle into nothing after such a promising start.

This time next week the first race will have run but before we get an indication of who is going to be quick who do YOU think is going to win this year, team and driver. 169144-ok.gif

McLaren's woes could well hit Hamilton's title chances, and it'll be interesting to see how he deals with that. I suspect a bit of a charge second half of the season.

Alonso may win a race, but I think Renault are too far behind for him to launch a title bid.

I predict strong signs of improvement from Honda as the season progresses, with Brawn and Button forming a formidable team.

Race wins for BMW and possibly Williams.

To the great sorrow of many, Ferrari will dominate and Kimi will win his second title much more easily than his first. How much of a challenge he gets completely depends on how McLaren cope.

I think alot will depend on how much Kimi wants it. He's made a fortune and is the current F1 world champ. What more does he want? He's not going to beat Schumi's record so will be interesting to see his attitude this year. I'd love to see Williams come back into it, would be fantastic. Honda? Not sure, could be the Newcastle of F1.. Mclaren, I think they've got big problems internally and will be off their game. Not sure how LH will cpoe with this 169144-ok.gif

Judging on the testing, I think that its going to be close between the Ferrari's and Mclarens. Hopefully Williams will finally be back toward the front of the grid where they should be and the Red Bulls could surprise people

I'll be interested to see how Hamilton does against Kovalainen. I think he's going to have a harder season than last year, with the pressure on him as effectively the number one driver in the team.

I'm tipping Button to get in the points regularly this year. If he's as smooth a driver as everyone claims then he should cope with the loss of traction control as well as anyone. I think Raikkonen and Hamilton should also cope well.

Alonso wasn't comfortable in the McLaren, but it remains to be seen how much of their performance last year was down to him. If Renault take a sudden leap forward, we'll have our answer, but I suspect they won't be championship contenders this year.

Everyone seems to think Kimi has this year sewn up, and it's hard to argue against that view, but Hamilton's definitely in with a shout, with an outside chance for Kovalainen. I don't think Massa will be allowed to challenge seriously for the title.

Who do I think is going to win ... MMmmmm well it could be Ferrari if they get their reliability issues sorted out from last year, but then again people like Ross B have now moved on so time will tell if the Italian element to the management takes them back a step not forward.

McLaren well who knows they look quick but have a lot to prove this year after what went on and how close they got. As a British outfit I want the to win and I make no bones about that so if Mclaren and Hamilton take the trophy and they have got a very good chance that would be fantastic.

I think as others have mentioned Button will be pretty good with the removal of traction control. He is a very smooth driver that should suit the new cars very well, don't think the car is going to be as good as he wants it until 2009 though.

Alonso, who knows, the car isn't looking that good but it might get better as the season goes on. BMW might be great if they get the car sorted but normally a bad car at the start rarely turns out to be a gem at the end.

Should be fun so role on Sunday. ECLIPSe.gif169144-ok.gif

Why do you want Ferrari to win?

That's a genuine question, not a piss take 169144-ok.gif

Good question.

I am/was a mad schumi fan (until he retired - previously senna until he had an accident with a suspension strut) and given that he had been with ferrari for almost a decade kind of became attached to ferrari (plus i love italy - especially sitting in maranello sipping coffee with the odd ferrari mule tootling past!, the way of life, the passion etc. etc.). I can't stand mclaren - ron teflon dennis etc. and now lewis hamilton. As for ferrari being the manu united of f1 - slightly harsh - f1 should never be compared to a bunch of overpaid underperforming wimps! Oh and i support valentino rossi too - even though he has picked the wrong tyres this year!
