craigyb
So I had a customers RS4 cabby up today for an SDS upgrade, as most of you know with the RS4 flat bottomed wheel there is no PTT button to use with the bluetooth kit or the RNS-E for voice commands. So after installing a CANGATE and a "SPORT" button into the dash, some simple rewiring of the Bluetooth mic and coding the SDS kicked into life. Here are some pics... Sport button in the dash (or speech button) Flat bottomed wheel (two sport buttons?) SDS of the radio system The "S" button is illuminated as well. S80PMC
Craig, i read up on this over on the TT-Forum, as Graham posted his feedback. Can you confirm the overall price (parts & your labour). Was anything done to the S Button on the steering wheel?
craigyb
Getting hold of a "cangate" is the hardest part of this as the guy who makes them in the states only makes a few at a time it seems and they are snapped up quickly. The price is around £270 depending on the cangate price. Import duty etc. The S button on the wheel functions as before as the S button in the dash is only used to initiate the speech control. PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] SDS ??? [/ QUOTE ] Speech Dialog(ue) System Gives voice control over many (not all - e.g. there is no command to select the SD cards) functions of the RNS-E.
craigyb
There's a chap on RS246 is certain that all RS4's come with BT as standard.
PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] There's a chap on RS246 is certain that all RS4's come with BT as standard. [/ QUOTE ] He's VERY wrong (and I've replied to his thread telling him so)... My RS4 didn't have Bluetooth - because I didn't order it as I didn't want an ugly phone holder AND I didn't want to lose the RS4 steering wheel. I DO have Bluetooth, RNS-E and SDS now though .... done the same way as craigyb has detailed here.
