Chrisg
I could do with a couple of 2gb and maybe a 4 gb are there any to avoid or is it a case of get what you pay for? smaller are for general storage, larger one I wish to use for backup. Thanks
pingpongpo
I thought that most memory sticks use Samsung chips so they're all the same apart from the case. Not a lot to look out for in my view tbh, just get the cheapest or one you like the look of best.
Mook
We tend to buy Kingston Data Traveller USB sticks. They're down to around £3.50 + VAT for 1GB
byron13
V big diff in read / write speeds so look up a few reviews first. I have one (4gb) that writes and reads 5 times faster than cheap one gig ones I have seen about.
Rustynuts
Do you want "Memory Sticks" or plain simple usb pen drives?
Mook
I was guessing usb pen drives - IIRC the term "Memory Stick" is one of Sony's trademarks for those thin sticks that only fit Sony stuff, but most people I know call any USB stick a memory stick

Paul
I tend to stick to Sandisk or Lexar. Never had one fail yet.
Waylander
agreed. Of the Sandisk the newest model is blisteringly fast but big. The titanium are very robust

Sponge
I've been using the 2gb version of this stick and have no complaints. In fact, I left it in my jeans pocket a few months ago and it went through the washing machine. It's still working. Chrisg
Thanks guys, Sponge that was the model i was looking at on Amazon -- they also have Kingston that I thought were good/reliable/fast. Not bothered by size, speed and reliabilty more important.
Waylander
I also have that one. Nice that the U3 also works in Vista but it is bloody flimsy.
chasdrury
Cruzer are good, had a few now. They do the titanium versions too... [ QUOTE ] Cruzer Titanium is an extremely rugged and smart USB flash drive. It is built with Liquidmetal casing that is crush-resistant to over 2, 000 lbs. Cruzer Titanium also includes U3 smart technology [/ QUOTE ] We got a few at work, and they definately, do not withstand 2000lbs crush though...
