Figure11
I'm going to swap out my standard cats for a set of sports cats when I get my exhaust done soon. I'm wondering that because I run LPG will I get away with 100CPI cats or do I need to do 200CPI cats to be on the safe side. I've discussed it with 2 fabricators and the first said he had done loads of 100CPI cats on Scoobies with no problems. The second said 200CPIs but was unsure about the effect of the reduced emmisions of LPG. 100Cell units will have lower back presure won't they? What do peeps think? Mook
I had a long conversation with Richard Millington of Milltek about 100cpsi and 200 cpsi cats for my S4 and he said it will make bugger all difference. 100 cell cats do have lower very slightly back pressure, but I'm not sure whether the lambda probes will play up on LPG. Got to say fitting the Milltek sports cats to the S4 has made a big chunk of difference, but it's quite a bit louder! How much was your LPG conversion, by the way? Figure11
Thanks for the reply Mook. I think its a case of a very small reduction in back pressure against possible emmitions isssues. From the point of view of the lambda probes, the car only has one in front of the Cat so in theory I could de-cat. I paid 2.5K for a multitronic direct injection set up. Should have recoverd the costs within the next few months. See link for the power difference figures. http://www.tyresmoke.net/ubbthreads/show...amp;Search=true Mike
