SneakyMcC
Lidl are doing cheap bike stuff on the 20.3.08 http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/i.home . Cheap dont always mean good value tho?
Hudson
Not bad for the scooter boys or those on a budget .... but i prefer my gear to have a tad more design and quality in it. Think i will stick with Rev'it.
Scotty
The back protector seems to get the thumbs up on some bike forums and it is rated at EN1621-2 so I guess it can't be all bad. Not sure how many scooter boys use back protectors though
SneakyMcC
I just been down to have a look this eveing. There seems to be no value for money in the goods. The lids = I was once told that "You only put a £10 head in a £10 helmet". I'd rather not crash in one of these lids. I had thought about a lid for the kids, but no thanks! They had tie-down rachet strap thingies. for the sake of a few more £'s I'd rather not have my bikes rolling around in the back of a van! The alarmed dicks locks looked like my three year old would reduce it to bits with his plastic tool set within a few mins. The rest of the stuff seemed about the same. I bnought a lock and chain from Aldi last time out. That seemed better value. Happy Birthday Scotty!
Scotty
Cheers Shame about the disk alarm. I thought it would be handy as a way of reminding you that you'd forgotten to take it off!
SneakyMcC
Go check'em out for your self. You may not agree. Aldi have their m/c stuff on the 24th, although I doubt it differs much?
Scotty
I bought the lock ... and socks and a charger. All cheap so not a lot to lose. The lock (like all of them is just a deterent) and at 97db it should be. It's fecking loud (at least in the house). It also has the handy feature of giving off 3 loud beeps when you initially move it i.e. if you've forgotten to remove it and got on the bike. Continued movement sets it off. I'm sure it could be broken (like most portable security devices) but I think it's deterent value covers the cost.
