Andrew
Morning all, I'm having problems with the wireless on my Tosh A2 Tecra laptop. It worked before my work put a vanilla XP build on it. I've tried updating the driver, removing and reinstalling and also removing the VPN software they put on it (read on a web site that VPN s/w can cause conflicts), all to no avail. In the device manager for the wireless card (inbuilt) I'm getting: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" The network controller in "other devices" is displaying "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" But given I'm currently online through the cable in the back I'm guessing this isn't going to cause connectivity issues. Any ideas? I'm stumped. Calm Chris
I imagine that the wireless and wired connections cant work in tandem either real time or when setting up a new connection. Have you tried disconnecting the wired network and then running the wireless installation wizard ?
Andrew
Solved. The flipping Tosh computers website (which embarrassingly is actually one of my clients) gave the wrong wireless driver for my machine. Opened up the laptop, found the card and searched for the drivers. Now all working - job done! Thanks for giving it some thought Chris.
