Donaldtramp
Anyone had any experience of an M3 on these? Potenza REO50A's to be precise. Just bought a new set of alloys for my M3 with these on. Hopefully you guys aren't going to say their sh1t! Too late now anyhow! And another question. My front pads are shot. Is it worth upgrading them from BMW standard? If so, any recommendations? Cheers
Woppum
I can help with the tyres as never tied. them. All I can say is most people go with PS2's. In regard to pads - go for Padgid RS29's - a miles better than stock. You can get them from Simpsosns.
Donaldtramp
Yeah I did want PS2's but with my current tyres, Conti's, on the wear band(they've been appalling in the cold weather up here in Scotland) I got a chance of a perfect set of wheels and tyres on e-bay with v. nearly new Potenzas on them. So I'll soon find out. Can't be worse than the Conti's. Have read some decent reviews on the web about potenzas so just have to wait and see. Thats the pads I remember reading about! I take it I can leave the standard rear pads on without any problems? They are just about new and I'm wanting to keep my spend under 2 grand this week!!! Woppum
I would speak to simpson about only upgrading the front. The RS29's are sooo much more powerful it may make it a little twitchy under braking if you dont do both. You could always take the rears off and sell them on e-bay, or hold them for a later date. You wont regret it!
Donaldtramp
Just been looking into it and Simpsons have a good article on their website: Simpsons BMW brake upgrade advice link Looks like you can get away with it but it will set the ABS off more often. Still dunno,I'll need to think about it. Interesting read though. Man this car is costing me a fortune this week!!! Thanks for the info and for pointing me towards Simpsons. Woppum
Its certainly worth a phone call. They will be honest with you, tell them what the car is for and they will recomend. I have the Rs29's all round (with AP's) and they are by the best brakes I have ever used. Even with standard callipers they are supposed to be incredible. Say Sa or woppum sent you!
