looking on Autotrader Private sales similar spec to mine seem to be between £13k-£14K but not sure if these are selling

and garages seem to be asking £15k.

Im looking at Leon FR Tdi 170, Golf GT Sport 170 and A3 Sline, which seem to do 40mpg compared to mines 22mpg. 169144-ok.gif

Part ex expect to be offered not much over £10K. Privately, you can advertise it for as much as you want, but expect to accept between £11k and £12k.

Autotrader and eBay, with with a 99p start price and a reserve of about £200 less than what you're prepared to accept for it.

Sad but true, but big engined cars are taking a bit of a hammering at the minute.

I've just been offered a few quid short of £13k for mine in p/x for a Golf GT Sport 170ps diesel. Obviously that's not a true figure as there's some discount on the new car worked into the px value, so I reckon they offered me about £11.5-12k if you pick the bones out of the salesman's waffle and what he offered the GT at for a cash purchase with no p/x.

I didn't think that was bad at all considering the lead-balloon-like depreciation that's certain to set in with cars like the R32 over the next month or so.

(For reference, mines a '53 with full leather, new tyres, has done just 23,000 miles and is in 'as new' condition.)

I was looking at the value of mine so paid the £2.99 for the Parker's valuation. Here's my result as of 26 April 2008:

Selected Options

1. 3.2 V6 R32 3d

2. 2003/53

3. Mileage: 35,000 miles

Original Price £25,890

Franchised Dealer £14,205

Independent Dealer £13,590

Private Good £12,855

Private Poor £10,490

Part Exchange £11,630

Navigation/radio system with colour screen

Leather/alcantara heated front sports seats

My motor has all options except sunroof, including cruise control. Hope that helps people.

Just for the info I spoke to an indy dealer at the weekend, he told me how the prices of MK4 R32's was unfortunately falling through the floor. A 53 plate with 60k miles went for £6000 through the on-line trader.... he also eluded to the fact that the MK5 Gti is also taking a bashing at the moment with Glasses showing a month on month decrease of nearly £500... bloody Darling is ruining the market!!
