Mook
It seems there must be some bloke or woman looking down on us - the BBC have won the TV and radio rights for F1 from the begining of 2009 - hopefuly James Allen will retire and if Martin Blunder is retained, he'll find something other than "on the ragged edge" to say. It was last on the BBC in 1996 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7306123.stm Bring back Murray

nordberg
I'm amazed by this. This could be a good chance to "stop the cock" but I will be surprised if the same team aren't commentating this time next year. I'd never knock Brundle, he's the best F1 pundit bar none IMHO. Durrsaku
You beat me to eat. Just read the news. That is a great news. I can see a few of the guys switching over but not sure if Martin Brundle will do.
Teacake
Must admit this came as a shock, as I'm sure I saw that ITV had inked a deal to show race coverage on their site. Great news, though. ITV haven't even bothered to show some of the races in Wales, so hopefully that situation will improve. I remember there was one race where they got a lot of criticism for going to ads right at the climax of a GP. Apologising afterwards, James Allen said it wasn't their fault as they were "contractually obliged" to do it. They chose to sell advertising time during the race, no-one was holding a gun to their heads.

RedRobin
The BBC News has just broadcast the story....Murray Walker was saying that he can't understand how ITV gave it up so willingly - He said that not only is Lewis Hamilton a genuine talent and star in the UK but now the world and that increased UK interest in F1 is due to him. Dr_Watson
Sounds good, I switch to SF1 during the breaks and watch it with Swiss commentary, the number of times an incident happens during the breaks is unreal....Jenson buttons engine blowing at Silverstone was one of them! RedRobin
Fecking Labour tosser Andrew MacKinlay is raising question in parliament about the F1>BBC move!!!! He said the licence fee should be spent on "real sports rather than the wealthy industry of Formula One", he argued. Since when has F1 not been a "real sport" FFS? What an arsehole!!
