The company aims to overtake Toyota as the world's leading car manufacturer in the next ten years.

Errr, wow!

Good luck to them and I hope they do it - will have to improve reliabiltiy a bit, but the products are certainly nicer than Toyotas

They can start by canning pointless shite like the Golfplus and Toerag, and give us more like the new Gti.

Oh, am I the only one still lamenting the end of the Lupo Gti ?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not sure about the Toerag. Does a good job of competing with the other tractors and looks better.

Also, get rid of the Fox. Bring back the Lupo - hopefully the Up! concept will come to fruition. 169144-ok.gif

No, I'm with you on that, my Wife still has one, 6 years old now and going strong (the car not the wife) and she says she will never sell it as there is nothing out there yet to replace it..

It still gets admiring glances and because there are none about, I think we have the only one in NI, people still think its new.. ECLIPSe.gif

Ok heres one for VW, the Fox....the sales man tells me its a "city car". Uh ok, so wheres the Automatic option?

The thing is with VW, maybe they include other brands they own etc. is that, in a global capacity they are not reliable enough or cheap enough to big sellers.

Personally my money would be Hynudai-Kia for global market leaders.

Oh, I was going to post this anyway - "Tiguan, the compact 4X4 thats at home in the city" - WHAT THE F*CK ?! Why do you need a 4x4 of any type in the city ? Still, if its at home in the city, I won't be stuck behind one of the budget chelsea tractors out here in the country.

[edited to add, I'm not in a grumpy mood because I've skinned my knuckles and damaged most of the brake components when changing the springs on my 5 series this morning. In the rain. Honest]

Lupo GTI, Duisberg?

Never mind the GTI - Mookette and Mook Jnr have both decided they want a Lupo when they can drive (a long way off yet, thank feck!)

Not a GTI, though. I'm absolutely not encouraging my kids to have any interest in cars at all. Especially not quick ones.

No. No. Honest. No.... UHOH7.GIF

....That's what I said a couple of years ago!

"Daddy, do they make this VW in pink?"

I'd have a Touareg rather than a Cayenne or an X5. Still unddecided about whether it would be better than a Q7, despite it looking like it's been hit with the ugly stick.

Although it's all immaterial - I don't want a Chelsea Tractor!

But they don't though. The only one that shifts is the Turbo. The S is a V8 and sounds great, but they're really feckin slow in comparison to any "performace car".

Golf GTI excepted, of course... tongue.gif

So much less practical than a high performance estate ie (All-road or the Volvo XC70). IMHO
