ludwig
Can anyone remember the link that shows you how to remove the RNS MFD2 (Sat nav) from the dash? I saw some excellent instructions and pictures recently here or, on uk-mkvs.net But can't recall where? Thanks, ludwig

ludwig
mikemod, this is the one! Many thanks. Excellent. I've got a creak that comes from the vicinity of the screen when travelling over rough surfaces. I thought it was worth while having a quick look to see if any screws were loose. That's the only noise I've got - so I shouldn't complain should I? thanks, ludwig
ludwig
TagnuT, thanks very much. I do remember seeing this now - the "green arrows"! Someones given a lot of effort to produce this. Now I've got two sets of info and pics to work from. Excellent. thanks, ludwig
dogbucket
one thing I learnt which is not fully explained in those guides: is when removing the top vent (the surround of which extends halfway down the MFD). After releasing the top clips, push in and up with your thumbs on the two side strips either side of the screen just above the joint to release the clips (which go under the bottom fascia section around the heater controls). Also use a plastic tool like those plastic mixers that come with body filler etc to unclip the trim. Screwdrivers will mark and mangle them big time. ludwig
dogbucket, thanks very much for warning us about this. <After releasing the top clips, push in and up with your thumbs on the two side strips .... > These jobs are never easy are they? <Screwdrivers will mark and mangle them big time.> Oh dear, I'm getting cold feet now .... Thanks again for sharing these tips with us, ludwig
dogbucket
It really isnt that hard. But if you plan to do other trim removal jobs invest in a set of 'Bojo' tools. Well worth it.
ludwig
dogbucket, thanks for this. <It really isnt that hard.> That's given me more confidence to have a go. <...invest in a set of 'Bojo' tools.> Yes I will consider doing that. They look very useful. Thanks again, ludwig
