S4teve
Has anybody with a TDi changed their exhaust tips - I hate the standard ones on the 140 PS TDi. The chrome ones on the 170 are a big improvement. I know if I change the whole of the rear box I could get the look I want with an aftermarket exhaust but I dont really want to go to that expense. I had a look at removing the existing tips but this would involve cutting with a small angle grinder to cut through the spot welds holding the tips before fitting new chrome tips. Has anybody tried this?
maersk
MUCH more than spot welds involved IIRC. More like big gobs on the top of the pipe. Hacksaw the end of the pipe off and fit a chrome extension or two. Bit of a bodge though.
Dallan
http://www.powerflowexhausts.net/dealerlist.cfm?dlr_location=2 To do a proper job, the silencer box under the boot should be removed and the outlet pipe/pipes replaced with chromed stainless steel. Powerflow do a great job on this (in my experience). See link at start for dealerships/fitting shops in your (Sussex?) part of the planet. Pics when you get it done!!?? D.
