ahaydock
So this is what I did over last Friday evening and Saturday (8 hours in total) - a friends Rover 200. The car needed a good tidy up and was quite heavily swirled with the odd RDS. I washed a clayed the car Friday night whilst it was dry then into my garage for polishing and waxing yesterday. Given that the car is 10 years old the clay wasn't that bad although there were lots of marks etc that just wouldn't polish (well not without some sanding anyway). The paint was harder than I expected and I had to use a more aggressive combo than I thought. I started on Megs 80 on a Polishing pad, but ended up doing one or two passes of Megs 83 on a SFX1 before finishing with a Megs 80 on a Megs Polishing Pad. So here was the process: 1. Wheels soaked in Megs Wheel Brightener and then rinsed and washed (2BM). 2. Car soaked using Karcher and Elite Citrus De-greaser, then rinsed. 3. Washed using 2BM and GG with Maxi Suds II and Serious Performance Mitt. Shuts, arches and sills with Megs APC. 4. Rinsed. 5. Used AG Tar Remover and rinsed, then clayed using Sonus Green and Megs LT as lube. 6. Soaked in AB SSF then Rinsed. 7. Dried using Megs LT and a Eurow Waffle Weave. 8. Car was then taped up and put in the garage for the night. 9. Polished with G220 using Megs 83 on a Sonus SFX1 Pad. 10. Followed by Megs 80 on a Megs Polishing Pad on the G220. 11. 1st layer of wax was Collinite 915 to give a nice durable base as I doubt it will be waxed for some time. 12. All Glass cleaned with Megs Glass Concentrate. 13. Interior cleaned with Megs APC and a MF, then dressed with PB Natural Look Dressing. 14. Vacuumed with Dyson. 15. A few sprays of CG New Car Scent. 16. Then 2nd layer of wax was the new Victoria Wax sample I have to give a glossy finish. 17. Trim and Tyres with CG New Look Trim Gel. Unfortunately the light was really poor and overcast so the pics really don't do the finish any justice: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Some Correction shots: Thanks for looking
