Hi Guys,

Sorry if these are nubie questions, I've been reading here for a little while now, but I bought a 2006 (06 plate) 4.2 tdi sport in November last year and had a few niggles which were sorted out under warrenty but every time I asked have I got the latest soft/firmware they would tell me it was upto date. I'm not sure which numbers they are but I think I have SW:-HU21.2.0 0534

When my car was in the shop they lent me a 57 plate 3.0tdi and the satnav had birdseye view which mine dosen't (I have a 2006 disc). It would would also play a mp3 cd which mine dosen't and you could also read SMS text's on the MMI screen and I have the same bluetooth kit with nokia 6230 cradle under the armrest.

Are these just software updates or is it going to cost me a fortune in replacment parts?

Also I remember reading someone wanted to change their suspenssion from SE spec to Soprt spec. Did this ever happen as I would like go to go the other way around as I'm a chauffeur and would prefer a softer ride. I asked the Master Tech at the garage I took the car to and he didn't seem to have much of a clue about it!

I think I have probably rambled on a bit too much for my first proper post.

Cheers Dave.

Birds eye view is enabled with software 3460 onwards, not on the Nav disk, but with the MMI update disks.

Mp3 capability is a new CD changer 4E0 057 110 A or greater (yours is currently a 111) You can add another CD changer or replace your existing one.

As for the phone system, the basic one with the cradle under the armrest does not do SMS, you need to upgrade to the rSAP system that does have SMS capabilities.

Cannot answer about the suspension.

Thanks Craig,

I think I have the rsap system as if I use my SE P990 with bluetooth it picks up my phone book, dialed, received and missed calls.

Do you know anyone in the south London area that can do this, as most of the dealers aren't intrested.

Cheers Dave.

P.S. any idea how much a new mp3 CD changer is to buy and fit?

I can assure you, that the P990i does not support SAP and if you have a cradle under the armrest then your phone system is NOT SAP, it is HFP only.

I don't know anyone in the south and a swap or addition of the CD changer usually requires a trip to the delaer to remove the component protection from the CD changed when it is added.
