CarMad
So today I tried to find out how much it might cost to service my motor. It told me it need a service but not which one. I called a dealer and as I've change my plate and didn't have the chassis No. to hand they couldn't tell me the costs. Not telling them the model, year and it was most likely a first service, nothing nada. We need more info, technology at its worse IMO. So a first service on an E90 BMW 330i at 17k mile what do we think, £200 ish and what will they do. I've looked at the computer at its only asking for an oil change. No idea if they can do it and me supply the oil I haven't got that far.
gizze
Will be about £100 mate, the next one will be the £200 one around 35k miles, then £100 again at 50k miles and £350 approx. at 70k miles. BMW servicing is pretty cheap compared to other marques. I am at 13k miles on the 320d and it is showing another 12k miles till the first oil service, I think I am going to have one done in the next week or two though, and then another one at around 24k miles or whenever it asks for it. CarMad
Well its been booked in for this week, gave them the details for my 330i and the figure came back at £179, I checked will another in the area that was a different group and got the same figure. Its certainly not cheap, oh and thats a stop and wait figure, they wouldn't pick it up for a oil change.
gizze
That doesn't seem right to me?
CarMad
I had a bit of a check round and found others paying £160 for a service on a 325i so I don't think its far off. I'd like it to be cheaper but hey ho.
sbgwz
Thats rather expensive but if people are paying £160 for a 325 that does seem fair. Atleast while your waiting you can go play with the ferrari's and maserati's, or have you gone elsewhere?
CarMad
Well it all went very well I was very impressed. They said it would take an hour maybe 90 minutes, as ever I took that with a pinch of salt. So I arrived at 2.15 yesterday, I had a quick look round and got on with some work, I've got too much on to just wait around, it was the dealer near the Fezza garage. A few minutes short of 1 hour I was called back to the service desk as my car reversed into view outside the showroom. Service done, oil and filter changed, the car had been washed, valeted and the tyres blackened they had actually done a good job. So as I paid the clock clicked to 3.15 and I left £180 lighter but the car feels better than ever and the service was faultless.
bazza_g
£180 sounds like a reasonable deal to me - I still have nightmares about my Boxsters first services at 20k miles - the oil/filter change was something insane like £450!
CarMad
Well its telling me now it needs to go back in next year or in 14,000 miles for a full service but the oil doesn't need changing for 19k. Have to say I was impressed and with a full tank of V-power in it at the moment its in rude heath. Not quite up to the squirt in yours Bazza but I'm happy enough. bazza_g
I dare say yours make a more satisfying noise than my turbo-charged vacume cleaner
