Lost sound...

I happened to press one of the listening modes on the remote of my Onkyo SR606 and I ended up losing sound through my speakers... it's odd though because this only happens on BBC-HD and when playing DVD's using 5.1 sound. On BBC HD you can only hear the words of a song, but not the music. On DVD's you can just about hear the words if you turn the volume up to the max.

I've run the audio setup again which didn't help and then messed around with lots of settings... by fluke I seem to have got the sound back on BBC HD and DVD's but somehow I don't think it sounds as good as it did before I messed it up. I've even found a use for the Eurovision as I'm able to flick between BBC1 and BBC-HD and the sound through BBC1 sounds much better and MUCH louder.

So what am I doing wrong?

:(

Have you changed modes or turned off some of the speakers or processing. You could be processing the signal in a different and worse way, not sure of the settings so can't help much exactly.

I've done similar on my Denon before and its normally easy to sort by making sure you have all the speakers set to on and you are processing the sound not letting it through direct.

Give a few things a press am sure it will get sorted. +++

So far so good... it's my first amp though so I'm a total newbie! Connected to my KEF speakers the sound is great, plenty of HDMI ports and it upscales beautifully! The supplied mic thingy automatically calibrates the speakers and the OSD is pretty intuitive! Good value at £400.

If you have any questions just let me know... +++
